South London artist and producer SHOR makes waves with impressive debut EP ‘Lessons’.

‘Lessons’ takes us on a tour of SHOR’s many different faces. From infectious bedroom pop to R&B infused rhythms, the EP packs something for every taste. The familiar highs of immersive previous singles ‘Lessons’ and ‘Usually’ give way to a more laid-back approach. Candid confessional ‘Alright’ thrills with deeply personal lyricism and hazy melody lines while closing track ‘You and Me’ invites you to get lost in its dreamy atmosphere. With beautifully captivating soundscapes building the backdrop to SHOR’s soothing vocals, ‘Lessons’ is the kind of record you’d like to play on forever. Talking about the EP, he says: “It feels so good to be finally putting out my first body of work. I wrote, recorded and produced the entire EP from my little home studio. I feel like each track gives you a different flavour of my musical influences, and I hope people love it as much as I loved making it.”

From top to bottom, ‘Lessons’ is a solid 10. Although it spans only four tracks, the EP feels extremely well-rounded and consistent. Its shifting moods keep you firmly hooked on the record’s sonic progression and give a perfect introduction to SHOR’s eclectic brand of electronic alt pop.
