Jools - 'Almost Famous'

Jools share an anthem for all women on, ‘Almost Famous’.

Jools are back with yet another great post-punk banger. The Leicester band’s third single ‘Almost Famous’ comes after their explosive debut ‘Hysterical Starving Naked’ and the brilliant ‘Spineless’.

Jools opt for a more personal narrative in the lyrics in ‘Almost Famous’. It celebrates the existence of powerful women and “suggests that I would give the world to the woman that changed mine forever”. Jools confirm for us all that the old hedonistic and often misogynist leanings of rock n’ roll are well and truly buried and you can still be pissed off, angry and energetic whilst waving the flag for feminism. Musically, Jools are obviously huge Shame fans, but in ‘Almost Famous’ offer a Murder Capital vibe. It is a must listen for all fans of the current punk genre.
