Live Review: Landmvrks - 229, London 25/05/2022

Tonight's show at 229 in London saw the extensive European tour for Landmvrks come to a close and they certainly put all their energy into their final performance of the tour!

Arriving at 229 there was already a long queue of fans outside buzzing to get inside and get stuck in. Opening this evening's proceedings were fellow French band Resolve (who feature on one of the most popular singles off Landmvrks latest album - Self Made BlackHole). Immense is the only way to describe Resolve’s opening set, the mixture of heartfelt and melodic lyricism versus the face shearing heaviness of the band's breakdowns made it the perfect way to get the audience in the mood for the rest of tonight's show! Not even a few songs into their set there were already Walls of Death being made that spanned the entirety of the venue, very few bands can walk out on stage and bring that sort of energy so quickly! An all round amazing set from Resolve, with highlight tracks being ‘D.G.G.R.S’ and ‘Emerald Skies’, hopefully we will see them back in the UK very soon!

Next up this evening was the heaviest band of the three, Ten56., who favored a more vicious and aggressive set than their two melodic counterparts on the tour. Instantly hitting the crowd with some of the most ear tearing guitar riffs we’ve heard in a long while, Ten56. Went from 0 to 100 really quick, the screeching electronic sounds of ‘Boy’ reminiscent of Slipknots ‘Eyeless’ and new single ‘Yenta’ initiating mosh pits left right and center! Ten56.’s set could only be described as being hit in the face with a semi-truck worth of sound, a permanent grimace on everyone's face during every song with how despicably heavy it was (that is a good thing by the way).

Last but by no means least it was finally time for headliners Landmvrks, who strode out onto stage to an entire audience chanting their name! As the first few notes of ‘Lost in a Wave’ boomed out of the speakers a resounding scream echoed from the darkness of the crowd, frontman Flo sprinting into the spotlight just before the band crashed into the first of many breakdowns of the night! Landmvrks have been growing rapidly in popularity in the past couple years and tonight really showed that off, every song got a enormous cheer and there was not one person in the building tonight not singing back every word, you could tell by the cheeky grins of the band that they were extremely happy with the response! ‘Death’, ‘Tired of It All’ and ‘Self Made Black Hole’ were our definite highlights of this evening, especially the last one as they brought out Resolve frontman Anthony Diliberto which was phenomenal to see live as it is to listen to on record!

Landmvrks and Co. truly outdid themselves this evening and we can only see them getting better and gaining more and more recognition globally!
