Sophie Kilburn - '20%'

Sophie Kilburn brings a combo of classic rock with heart-pounding drums on new single ’20%’.
Blending together a hint of Americana with vintage indie rock sounds - Sophie creates a level of nostalgia with her latest offering. Oozes an almost rom-com cinematic tone to it - made for jumping on your bed or singing into an hairbrush - this track would sit nicely on a modern love story soundtrack. As Sophie explains: “20% is about reaching the peak of your frustration and fighting for what you want. On the surface, it seems like a Charlotte from Sex in the City ‘curse the day you were born’ vibe but it’s calling out someone who is mistreating you and breaking free from being their emotional sponge and soaking up all their issues.
‘20%’ is the second track off Sophie’s six single EP project ‘Not Bitter Just Bored’, a collection of songs that go through the stages of a heartache recovery from unconsciously accepting toxic behaviour to unpicking attachment styles and what society has conditioned us to be, all in the aid to refind self-confidence and worth. Sophie will be rounding off her Not Bitter Just Bored project with a live launch night at The Grace, in London on the 27th October. Tickets are on sale now.
