Coach Party - 'Micro Agression'
Coach Party excite fans with latest single ‘Micro Aggression’, which is everything you’d expect from the title, and more.
The Isle of Wight four-piece have taken the success of their 2022 EP ‘Nothing Is Real’ in their stride and returned with a huge track in the form of ‘Micro Aggression’. Like Wolf Alice in its unique vocal performance by lead singer, Jess Eastwood, and yet so raw and completely new in the coming together of all parts of the track.
The song has a real feel of anger and passion, with the band stating that the song “Goes out to those whose sense of humour largely involves micro-dosing others with hurtful and oppressive comments, followed by a ‘woah I was only joking’”. The title and arrangement of the song is perfect for this.
The video is the first of the band’s that purely focuses on the visuals of the band as opposed to being based around certain settings. It’s extremely apt. Our attention as viewers and listeners is captivated through the video which is brimming with anger and raw emotions.
The song itself explodes in almost chaotic fashion. The anger spoken about by Eastwood is felt throughout. The dark guitar riff repeated in the verses almost seems to be reflective of the band putting up with certain aspects of life, all before finally reaching tipping point and exploding in big choruses.
The track is available for fans during their tour, which begins on February 3rd in Manchester’s Deaf Institute. Sure to be a fan-favourite, the band can really be proud of this one. It’s got all you could wish for from a Coach party track. A real anthem for those times when you’ve just had enough.
It’s no wonder the band have received attention from the likes of the NME, and The Observer, and it’s more than likely that the band- tipped to be ‘rising stars’- will be huge before we know it.
Fans can expect an explosive track in this one when they see the band live. Fuzzed up rock that’ll get the people moving.
