Swim School - 'Delirious'
Swim School excite fans with latest single ‘Delirious’, ahead of the release of their highly anticipated EP ‘Duality’ in June.
Having already achieved such accolades as being named ‘a band you need to see live’ by Clash, the Edinburgh trio have gone from strength to strength with their latest release.
The track brings to light the reality of many women’s experiences in the music business today. In particular, the song focuses on the counts of misogyny that frontwoman Alice Johnson has encountered. The band take on the issue in the way that they know best: through a superb track. The fuzzy guitar of Lewis Bunting and Alice Johnson seems to give the track that real sense of aggression. This, combined with the real drive from drummer Billy McMahon, makes for a track that will have crowds in the palm of the bands’ hands.
The track oozes coolness. There is a real feeling of sticking two fingers up to those that the song is addressed.
“Oh you’re so delirious, if you think I’ll listen to a word you say”. A hard-hitting chorus which will resonate with all. I mean, it’s just cool, isn’t it? The band know their worth, and they know their capabilities. Johnson’s lyricism perfectly works with the instrumentation of the track, and as a whole it makes for a real classic.
The release of the band’s next EP ‘Duality’ will be more than anticipated after this one. A to-the-point, fast, no-nonsense indie rock song that will leave crowds wanting more.
2023 is set to be a huge year for the band. The release of their EP, alongside their ongoing tour, as well as a further tour with Softcult will propel the band to new heights, as their music will reach more and more people who are destined to fall in love with the Scottish outfit.
Stream ‘Delirious’ now, and look out for Swim School this year.
