Introducing #258 - Bedroom High Club
Let us introduce you to Barnsley boys Bedroom High Club - who has just released their latest new single ‘Courtesy’.
Showcasing the first reveal from their debut EP out later this year, the South Yorkshire four-piece are a shaken bottle ready to burst, with a raw, undefinable sound drawing inspiration from a varied spectrum of the indie landscape.
They took a moment to talk to us about their music.
Hey there Bedroom High Club - how are you? So your track ‘Courtesy’ is out now - can you tell us what it is about?
Courtesy is about the ups and downs of a relationship and the dangers of hanging on too long.
Where are you from and what are your favourite things to do there?
We're all from Baaaaarnsley! We just love driving around the nice scenery that we're blessed with up here. We're within an arms reach of the Peak District which has become like a second home to us and somewhere that definitely inspires us. Other than that we just sit in our lockup all day jamming and make our own fun.
What are the key influences when it comes to your music?
We definitely influence each other when it comes to making music. Someone might be loving a certain style of song or playing around with a chord progression that one day makes its way into our little studio. Then we make rough demos, then second guess ourselves 10 times over before we're happy.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
Dramatic
Now the track is out there - what next for you?
