Loveless - 'I Hope I'm Not Sick'
Los Angeles duo Loveless share their new single ‘I Hope I’m Not Sick’ which offers an introspective exploration of mental health challenges.
Rock duo Loveless first met in 2019 and released their 2020 debut single ‘Better’ just as COVID-19 lockdown restrictions began to go into full force, the limitations prevented any touring plans but Loveless embraced social media to connect with their fans globally. The pair began to find success posting thrilling covers which entered the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart at #2 with their version of Elley Duhe’s ‘Middle of the Night’, Loveless didn’t stop there as they went viral with their emo, post-punk version of Billie Elish’s ‘Happier Than Ever’ and then received attention from Lizzo with their spin on ‘About Damn Time’.
Loveless has now built an astonishing community online with 2 million TikTok followers, 2 million monthly Spotify listeners, with over 250K YouTube subscribers and over 311K followers on Instagram.
The new single ‘I Hope I’m Not Sick’ highlights Loveless’ blend of emo, alt-pop and high-velocity hard rock. ‘I Hope I’m Not Sick’ offers an introspective exploration of the emotional landscape that is encountered while navigating mental health challenges. Vocalist and producer Julian Comeau says that the single came from a time where he though his anxiety and depression was at their worst, he explains “For years, I pretended I was fine and that everything was okay, even when I was dealing with excruciating mental anguish and the fear that it was never-ending. Writing this song allowed me to break free from that fear and accept that my mental illness is a part of me that I need to deal with head-on, and not be afraid to face it. I hope it brings others a similar solace.”
With Loveless currently wrapping up the sold-out North American leg of their tour, the duo will perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago this summer before they continue their world tour in Australia, Europe and the UK.
