Sia - 'Gimme Love'

Sia’s brand new powerful pop moment has arrived, ‘Gimme Love’ is a grand and beautifully captivating new release with her sharp vocals taking the spotlight.

‘Gimme Love’ builds from the beginning until the end and listens like a rollercoaster, driven by gorgeous vocals and strong vocal harmonies, an ever-thumping soundscape and evocative pop elements weaving throughout its enigmatic and angelic soundscape. This grand gesture is Sia’s first new music since 2021 and is due to be followed up by her first solo pop album in 8 years. ‘Reasonable Woman’ is set for release in spring next year!

‘Gimme Love’ is the first taste of Sia in a brand new outfit, the song is addictive and builds upon the well-known building blocks of sonic pop. Its soaring and anthemic chorus feature hazy synths and incredible hooks hard not to instantly get hooked to. The past few years Sia continued writing songs with and for others, including Miley Cyrus’ ‘Violet Chemistry’ and ‘Muddy Feet’, which appeared on her multi-platinum album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’.

Sia’s ‘Gimme Love’ comes with a visual lyric video, and even though the scenes showcased in the video paint the picture of the story behind the song, its lyrics seem to have been drawn by a toddler. I am unsure what the thought behind this would have been, and decide to instead immerse myself into the song, because lyrics or not, I will never be able to sing along like Sia. In that lies her strength too, a talent nearly unmatched by modern pop artists, Sia brings simple but passionate and soaring sound to the charts with ‘Gimme Love’ being another perfect example of that.

It’s been two years since Sia put out music, but she’s not sat still… Sia is currently one of the most listened-to artists in the world with over 50 billion audio streams, her single ‘Unstoppable’, which was released in 2016, has gone viral, and in April she popped up at Coachella to perform ‘Thunderclouds’ with her dear friend Labrinth. Sia is an underrated artist, a wordsmith that should get more credit and who will hopefully get her well-earned credit with the upcoming album!
